MetLife

If the Cardinals can avoid any further injury on Sunday, then maybe they get back on track and this can jump start it.  However, what about that turf at MetLife?

Raising Zona: So what’s up with the MetLife turf?  Do the 49ers have a legit beef or are they just using it as an excuse for the injuries they suffered in their two weeks in New York?

"“The MetLife Stadium turf has been a topic of discussion this season, but there doesn’t seem to be any evidence behind the claim that it is dangerous other than happenstance injuries. The Jets/49ers’ Week 2 clash was ugly — mostly due to the sheer number of injuries suffered by both teams. That said, it’s not as though this has been a recurring issue with the turf this season. The Jets, while beaten and battered, haven’t necessarily suffered more injuries at home than on the road. The NFL conducted multiple investigations and found no evidence that the turf was any more dangerous than other fields around the league. This one’s probably more of a fallacy than anything else.”"

Agreed.  the NFL has done their investigations.  Other teams outside of the San Francisco 49ers have played on that turf without issue.

While it’s awful for all of the injuries that befell the 49ers while at MetLife, that’s football.  The turf can’t be used as an excuse for losing.

Raising Zona: Who wins on Sunday, a prediction with score?

"“The Cardinals will win this Sunday in rather convincing fashion. That isn’t some bold take either, it’s just the way that pretty much every single Jets game has gone this season. Aside from around one or two possessions on Thursday, the Jets haven’t even looked like a competitive football team. Despite facing an injury-riddled Broncos team that entered the week 0-3, starting an undrafted quarterback who had thrown eight career passes, and was traveling across the country on a short week, the Jets still lost by multiple scores. The Cardinals are going to win this game with ease, let’s say 34-6 is the final score.”"

So Fried predicts a Cardinals 34-6 blowout.  We predicted a 24-16 victory for the Cardinals, so a much closer affair on Sunday.  We’ll see. Our thanks to Justin Fried and The Jet Press for their time.
