Best defensive player

There are a number of players who have made great plays from time to time.  Who has been the most consistent however?  Who has made the biggest overall impact?

Sure, we know Simmons made the best play but he’s hardly seen enough snaps.  Guys like Patrick Peterson, Dre Kirkpatrick, Haason Reddick, and Byron Murphy have all made more than a couple of good plays.

The guy though that has been a head above the rest is safety Budda Baker.  The man has been on a mission.  He came into the season with zero interceptions.

Now interceptions are not the best stat to looks at one’s value.  Passes defensed and also the number of times an opposing quarterback stays away from you are also factors.

Baker though has come through with not one, but two interceptions now.  His first came against the Cowboys then had one that should have been returned for a touchdown against the Seahawks.  We’ve all seen the meme’s now that shows he didn’t score because he was caught from behind.

Baker won defensive player of the week and month in October.  That’s easy enough to figure Baker deserves our best defensive player so far.
