Raising Zona: What are your thoughts on John Wolford? Did he have any playing time in the preseason last year? Will McVay have to scale back the playbook?

Ramblin’ Fan:

John Wolford has managed to stick around. He’s not a bad quarterback. NFL teams were willing to give him a chance when they found out that he played the majority of his college career with opposing teams having access to his playbook. Apparently there was some sort of dispute between the schools play-by-play announcer and the head coach, and the play-by-play guy was sharing the playbook with opponents before games.

That being said, he’s a third string quarterback on most NFL teams. The Rams are going to try to limit him as much as they can, and plan a strategy that masks the weaknesses that he may have. The NFL really doesn’t know what those are right now. It’s going to be exciting.
