September

Week 1: Monday September 13th (Monday Night Football) – vs. Houston Texans

Look for the Arizona Cardinals to open the season at home as part of ESPN’s Monday night doubleheader.  Whether the Texans have Deshaun Watson at quarterback or not come September, this matchup makes the most sense.

The Cardinals have basically become Texans west with the additions of receiver DeAndre Hopkins and defensive end J.J. Watt over the last two offseasons.

Week 2: Sunday September 19th – @ San Francisco 49ers

After giving the Cardinals a home opener, it would make sense they would send them on the road against division rival San Francisco to start two weeks on the road. The Cardinals remember started on the road at San Francisco last season and won 24-20.

Week 3: Sunday September 26th – @ Detroit Lions

The Cardinals have also been on the road in Detroit in September more than once before as well. The Lions might as well be an NFC West team at this point with the regularity these two teams matchup.

The Cardinals lost at home to the Lions 26-23 last season.  Kyler Murray threw a couple of interceptions and some questionable play calling would lead to their first loss of the season.
