2021 Team: Washington Commanders
One of the most pleasant surprises of the Washington Commanders’ defense in 2021 was Bobby McCain, a former fifth-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins. In 17 appearances, the 5-foot-9,196-pounder tallied 63 tackles, four interceptions, and nine pass breakups after inking a deal with Washington back in May.
The Alabama native spent six solid seasons in Miami before his departure last spring. During his stint in South Florida, McCain totaled 254 tackles, seven picks, and 30 pass breakups in 87 contests (55 starts) for the Dolphins.
The 28-year-old McCain was a high school teammate of Kwon Alexander, a linebacker with the New Orleans Saints. During his four seasons at the University of Memphis, the athletic McCain recorded an impressive 12 interceptions.
