Second Round (Pick No. 55)

Arnold Ebiketie – OLB (Penn State)

The Cardinals entered the draft with a dire need for an edge-rusher, and the organization manages to address the issue with a solid defender in round 2. Penn State’s Arnold Ebiketie has some big shoes to fill, but the loss of Chandler Jones will hurt a lot less now that the former Nittany Lion is on board.

Ebiketie was voted First-team All-Big Ten following his excellent play last season. The 6-foot-3, 253-pounder racked up 9.5 sacks and 62 tackles, 18 of which resulted in a loss of yardage for opposing offenses.

The 23-year-old spent the first three years of his college career at Temple University, where he amassed six sacks, 58 tackles, and three forced fumbles in 16 appearances for the Owls. Ebiketie joins Markus Golden, Devon Kennard, Dennis Gardeck, and Victor Dimukeje at outside linebacker for the Redbirds.
