Only one more remains.

The talk around the NFL centers on the fact that only two first-round draft selections from this past year haven’t signed their rookie contracts: the two quarterbacks. Fernando Mendoza of the Las Vegas Raiders and Ty Simpson of the Los Angeles Rams have not put pen to paper just yet.

As training camp gets closer, the talks will only get more intense between the two camps, and that goes for anyone who remains unsigned.

Why do we bring up contract disputes that don’t involve the Cardinals? Well, Arizona has finally come to terms on a contract with one of its rookies. Selected in the fourth round, there was plenty of hope within the organization that Kaleb Proctor could be a difference-maker on the front seven, alongside Josh Sweat and Walter Nolen III.

Selected from Southeastern Louisiana University, Proctor didn’t gain a ton of traction from NFL scouts. Coming in at 6’3 and 280 pounds, Proctor was a tad undersized for an interior defensive lineman.

In his 2025 season at Southeastern Louisiana, Proctor totaled 43 tackles, with 11 of them being tackles for loss. On top of that, he also contributed nine sacks to the board, which is outstanding for a guy on the interior.

With Proctor officially under contract, the Cardinals only need to sign one more of their rookies to their deal, and that is quarterback Carson Beck. Selected with the No. 65 overall pick in the third round, the choice of Beck turned a ton of heads.

Will the Cardinals get a deal done with him soon?
