The Cardinals are now one of two teams remaining in this year’s head coach hiring cycle, along with the Las Vegas Raiders. While we’ve got an idea of what direction the team plans on heading in, it is all coming down to which candidate they choose to hire for the job.

Earlier this week, the Cardinals brought in the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur, for a second interview. Definitely a frontrunner for the position, and with his season officially over, the team can hire him whenever they’d like. The only question is, why haven’t they done so yet?

The reason is that Arizona is conducting an interview with Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who will be coaching in the Super Bowl. The Cardinals will be interviewing him tomorrow in Seattle.

Klint Kubiak has had the opportunity to coach an elite offense that has the league’s best wide receiver in Jaxon Smith-Njigba. On top of that, Kubiak has helped quarterback Sam Darnold take his game to the next level, building off his excellent 2024 campaign with the Minnesota Vikings.

Kubiak’s supporting cast? Kenneth Walker, Zach Charbonnet, Cooper Kupp, and AJ Barner.

Kubiak will have the opportunity to work on an offense built similarly to the Seahawks, but not quite there yet.

From Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Wilson as the premier pass catchers. To have the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft, the future of the offense is incredibly bright in Arizona. It does not matter if it's LaFleur or Kubiak; there is something to be excited about.

The interview with Kubiak is slated for tomorrow, and this will likely determine if the Cardinals hire him or not.
