Despite a dismal three-win season, the Cardinals had one of the league's more dynamic passing attacks. Led by Jacoby Brissett for the majority of the season, the team relied heavily on a trio of pass catchers to keep itself afloat.

Tight end Trey McBride headlined the receiving core, as his 2025 campaign proved the best among players at his position. He was joined by wide receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, lined up opposite each other on the outside.

The trio gave Brissett options on short routes, as well as downfield. However, one issue that nagged the Cardinals was the depth pieces after them.

Arizona struggled to fill its wide receiver No. 3 role consistently, and it proved to bite the team in the rear. However, the team could fix the problem by signing one in free agency, and CBS Sports may have found that guy.

Cardinals Could Add WR Deebo Samuel To The Mix

A player that the Cardinals know all too well, as Deebo Samuel spent the majority of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. Arizona could really benefit by adding him to the mix, as he brings speed and physicality to the table.

Samuel, 30, appeared in 16 games with the Washington Commanders in 2025. During those games, Samuel hauled in 72 passes for 727 yards with five touchdowns.

Imagine adding Samuel to an offense that already has the talent in McBride, Harrison, and Wilson. All the team would need is a quarterback, and everything would begin to look up.

While wide receiver isn’t the biggest need on the roster, depth is definitely a problem that can’t be left out to dry. It will be interesting to see what Monti Ossenfort has planned for March.
