The Cardinals officially signed defensive tackle Kaleb Proctor, a fourth-round pick out of Southeastern Louisiana, to his rookie deal. The second-to-last rookie was signed by general manager Monti Ossenfort and the front office.
So why are we making a big deal about it? After all, it's not like he was the last one to sign his rookie deal. The reason why this is big is that the only player that hasn’t signed yet is crucial in the Cardinals’ narrative entering training camp, which starts up on July 22.
The last one standing is quarterback Carson Beck, who was shockingly selected by the Cardinals in the third round at pick No. 65. Coming to a team that isn’t exactly sure who will be the starting quarterback come the season opener, you’d think Beck would at least have a shot at the role.
Competing against Jacoby Brissett, who threw for over 3,000 yards and 23 touchdowns despite yielding a 1–11 record as a starter, and Gardner Minshew. While it isn’t likely he starts in week one, Beck could at least apply a ton of pressure to the two other journeymen that sit in that quarterback room.

Beck led the Miami Hurricanes to a national championship appearance in 2025, with key wins over teams like Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Ole Miss to punch the ticket.
Beck, along with fellow quarterbacks Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson, all have not signed their deals yet.
This happens every offseason, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on as we near training camp.
