We already know that the Cardinals will take on the Carolina Panthers in the 2026 Hall of Fame game. But what fans need to take into account is that this is a 2-for-1 package, as one franchise legend is getting his legacy enshrined forever.
Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is one of the modern era inductees for the 226 Hall of Fame class, and it is an understatement to say it was deserved.
Fitzgerald, now 42 years of age, played 17 seasons with the Cardinals and racked up a ton of accolades while giving fans memories that would last a lifetime.
In his career, Fitzgerald finished with 17,492 yards and 121 receiving touchdowns. He was selected to the 2010s all-decades team and earned 11 Pro Bowl selections, including seven straight from 2007 to 2013.

Fitzgerald’s signature moment came in the 2015 Divisional Round against the Green Bay Packers, where he caught a pass and took it 75 yards to the five-yard line. Two plays later, Fitzgerald caught a shovel pass and ran it in for a touchdown, sending Arizona to the NFC Championship Game.
While he never won a Super Bowl, Fitzgerald will always be an icon in Arizona Cardinals history. Not only did his on-field production stand out, but his actions off the field when no one was watching really turned heads. In 2016, he was the recipient of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which is given out for off-the-field community service.
Not only will Cardinals fans get to watch their team on the field, but also see a staple in their franchise get inducted to NFL’s greatest accomplishment.
It will be a pleasant sight for everyone.
