It definitely wasn’t by design, but the Arizona Cardinals will have one extra preseason game to prepare for ahead of the 2026 season, as the team will be playing in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio on August 6.
Pretty ironic that Arizona gets one extra low-stakes match considering they are projected to be the worst team in the NFL. They will be facing off against the NFC South champion Carolina Panthers, who are looking to build off a surprising 8-9 season which resulted in a division victory
But Arizona announced something special for their final preseason game, as they are holding a joint practice with the Green Bay Packers in Wisconsin ahead of their matchup that takes place on August 28.
LaFleur talked about his excitement in a press conference.

"To do the joint after we get back (after training camp) and get out of that heat, I told some of the guys, if we could go to Canada, we would. They just don't have a team" The next best thing is to go up to Wisconsin." — Mike LaFleur
It will be a battle of two brothers, as the LaFleur’s square off for the first time, both as head coaches.
Matt LaFleur is entering his eighth year with the Packers as their head coach, meanwhile his brother Mike is entering year one with the Cardinals, hoping to turn the ship around.
It has not been announced yet if this practice will be open to the public, but it wouldn’t matter anyways, as the two teams face off at Lambeau Field only a few days later.
