It was a tumultuous offseason for the Arizona Cardinals in 2025, as the team saw a change at head coach and quarterback. Moving off of Jonathan Gannon after only three seasons, as well as releasing their quarterback of seven years, Kyler Murray.

As if the path couldn’t get any more difficult, every team in their division saw its squad get better. Especially those of the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams, who both finished second to the Super Bowl Champion, Seattle Seahawks.

In a division as challenging as the NFC West, it can be very easy to back down, considering the talent gap between Arizona and the three other teams. But one Cardinals captain insists that the level of talent in the NFL’s most competitive division will not faze his squad

“At the end of the day, they gotta deal with us.”

— Mack Wilson Sr.

The quote came shortly after the Rams pulled off the blockbuster trade to acquire Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Jared Verse and a first-round pick. It was L.A.’s second big trade of the offseason, as they acquired cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a total of four draft picks.

Wilson received a ton of ridicule following this statement, considering that the Cardinals were a bottom-three team in 2025, finishing with only three wins. However, this confidence could galvanize the new-look Cards as they enter training camp this upcoming July.

The Cardinals report for training camp on July 22 to kick off the Mike LaFleur era in Arizona.
