With the Super Bowl officially being behind us and all the head coaching vacancies being filled, it is time for us to move on to the next phase of the offseason, which is free agency.
Despite the result of the 2025 season for the Arizona Cardinals (a 3–14 record), there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic in the future. With a core of pass catchers established in Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Wilson, all the team needs to do is fill a few holes on the offensive side of the ball.
The Cardinals even prioritized offense in their head coaching search, hiring former Los Angeles Rams’ offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur to push the buttons on what will hopefully be a talented unit next season.
One of LaFleur’s biggest decisions that he will make alongside upper management is what he will do at quarterback. ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss believes that this will be the biggest move of the offseason and that it will almost entirely come down to LaFleur’s judgment.

“Either LaFleur will be allowed to decide if he wants to work with Kyler Murray, or that decision will be made for him by the powers that be,” Weinfuss said.
There are plenty of options on the table for Arizona when it comes to quarterback. Obviously, they can stick with Murray for another year, but guys like Daniel Jones, Malik Willis, and even Tua Tagovailoa may be up for grabs.
What the Cardinals choose to do at quarterback will either make or break the future for them, as if they mess this one up, everything could go up in flames.
The biggest decision in quite some time is looming, and it will be interesting to see how the staff handles it.
