The Cardinals hold the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, and it is anyone's guess what they are going to do with it. Do they go offensive line? Running back? Trade down? The door is wide open for that selection.
However, what most people need to realize is that Arizona could be picking twice in the first round. Yes, there could be a twilight hour trade-up, and ESPN believes it will be to address one of the biggest needs that couldn’t have been done with No. 3.
In ESPN’s Jordan Reid’s two-round mock draft, he has the Cardinals selecting David Bailey out of Texas Tech with their first pick. He stated that adding a second pass rusher would pair well with Josh Sweat, who will be entering the second year of his contract with Arizona.
Twenty-five picks later, Reid has the Cardinals selecting Kyler Murray’s replacement. In an unprecedented move, Reid thinks the unthinkable will take place.

Cardinals Projected To Trade Up For Alabama QB Ty Simpson
“For the second straight draft, the Texans would trade out of the back end of the first round, receiving the Cardinals' second- (No. 34) and fourth-round picks while sending Arizona their first-round pick (No. 28).” – Jordan Reid
The Cardinals use this pick on Ty Simpson, who is coming off an exceptional junior season at Alabama. En route to a College Football Playoff quarter-final appearance, Simpson completed 305-of-473 passes for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Reid says that Simpson is solid when it comes to utilizing play-action passes. Reid acknowledged that there is risk with this trade, as Simpson only has 15 starts to his name in college.
If this happens, it will be a bombshell. Cardinals fans should be excited to see their general manager potentially making an aggressive move.
