We can’t say it enough over here, 2025 was a year to forget for the Arizona Cardinals after finishing the season with a dismal three wins, and a bottom three finish amongst the entire league. But all you can do is move on, there are bigger fish to fry in the near future.

Despite the lack of success in the win column, one of the lone bright spots on the Cardinals struggling roster was Jacoby Brissett, who managed to take the reins as the team’s starting quarterback for 12 weeks. Even though he went 1–11 in those starts, the improvement from the journeyman was evident, as he threw for 23 touchdowns.

With such a promising season statistically, coupled with massive improvements over the offseason on the offensive side of the ball, you’d think Brissett would get a little more respect, right?

The answer to that is no, in fact, he got quite the opposite according to Pro Football Focus’ preseason quarterback rankings.

“Brissett is in the middle of a contract dispute with the Cardinals, as his $1.5 million guaranteed for 2026 is less than what his backup, Gardner Minshew II, is set to make. At 33 years old, Brissett is the definition of a bridge quarterback. He can provide solid play at the position, but he won’t win enough games to prevent his team from landing a top draft pick.”

Despite yielding a solid touchdown-to-interception ratio, the media only sees the bad in Brissett, which is highlighted in his player report.

We’ve seen what Brissett can be when on point, and with the moves made over the offseason, we believe he’ll shut all the hate down right away.
