Being selected in the top ten as a running back is pretty rare, let alone in the top three, the way Jeremiyah Love entered the league. Selected at pick No. 3 out of Notre Dame, most running backs selected that high find themselves in the top ten almost immediately.
Take a look at Saquon Barkley, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Bijan Robinson; nearly all of them gained respect as soon as their names were called in the top 15. Even if they weren’t, all three of these guys now find themselves in the new top ten released by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. In fact, they all hold down the top three.
You’d think that, being selected in the top three, Love would surely hold down a spot in the top ten; that can’t be asking for much.
Unfortunately, Love didn’t place in the top ten; he didn’t even earn himself an honorable mention nor receive any votes to begin with.

A lot of this has to do with the fact that the Cardinals don’t exactly know who will be the lead back come September, as they already have a crowded running back room. With James Conner returning from injury, Tyler Allgeier now in the mix on a two-year deal, and Love being selected in the top three. The possibilities are endless.
We guarantee that Mike LaFleur is going to want some continuity a few weeks in, which would open the door for Jeremiyah Love to take over that No. 1 spot. Once he locks that down, the opportunity for him to make a name for himself as a top-ten running back will be on the table.
