Finishing in the bottom three is never fun, even though it comes with a good draft pick. The Arizona Cardinals finished with only three wins in 2025, all while their division counterparts logged twelve-plus-win seasons.

There are plenty of things to blame for this, with the first being coaching, as the now-fired Jonathan Gannon saw his win total decrease by five compared to 2024. Gannon also finished with zero playoff appearances.

However, despite the turmoil in the clubhouse, one Cardinal put up a season that not only smashed personal records but league records as well. Tight end Trey McBride finished the season with over 1200 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, while also breaking the single-season record for receptions by a tight end.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell had this to say about McBride.

“And all of this hasn't even touched on Trey McBride, who finally started catching touchdowns last season and won the triple crown for tight ends. McBride benefited from running 119 more routes and earning 51 more targets than any other tight end, but he was third in yards per route run and dropped only one pass.”

Barnwell also touched on Michael Wilson’s surge as the team’s No. 1 wide receiver, how Marvin Harrison could be better in his third-year, and how Jeremiyah Love could make the offense more dynamic.

The McBride praise is 100% deserved, and it will be incredibly exciting to see what he has in store in 2026. The team relies on his performance heavily, and the only way for Arizona to stay afloat is for him to produce.
