11:26 Good morning Cardinal Fans. 34 minutes until the draft starts. We know Jake Long is going to Miami. Now the anticipation is who goes #2. ESPN just interviewed Matt Ryan, QB from Boston College. He thinks he’d be a good fit in Atlanta. If he doesn’t go there, look for maybe Baltimore.
11:40 – Ed Werder, ESPN, mentions possbility of Cowboys looking to trade for a WR. This includes Anquan Boldin. If the Cardinals are even thinking about giving Quan to the Cowboys, they’d better make sure they are getting ALOT in return. Personally, I’d be very dissapointed to see [...]

2008 NFL Draft Day’s 1 and 2
OK, I’m putting it out there. I believe that with the 16th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select……..Aqib Talib, CB Kansas.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love this pick. This kid is a gifted playmaker. He is tall, he is fast, he is big, and he takes advantage of the little mistakes that opposing QBs make. Now if you have been doing your assigned pre-draft reading, you will find little clues to this pick.
For example, GM Rod Graves had this to say about picking a CB in [...]
While everyone in the Cards camp was seemingly celebrating the contract extension Larry Fitzgerald signed in early March, I knew it was going to come back to bite us in the ass! Why? Because our team’s heartbeat, our franchise player (in my opinion) WR Anquan Boldin is not happy about his payday.
And rightfully so. All Boldin has done is given Arizona his complete and total effort every Sunday, and become one of the most prolific receivers in the NFL over the last 5 seasons. Despite injuries, he has set 3 NFL records and been elected to two [...]
2008 NFL Mock Draft, Version 2
Alright boys and girls, Scott has already given you his mock draft, but with the draft less than a week a way it’s time for me to give you my rundown of how the first round will shake out on Saturday.
Team
1st Round
1. Miami Dolphins – Jake Long, OT Michigan
Well by now we’ve all heard the reports about the Dolphins already signing Long to a 5 year/$57.75 Million contract, and sucking all the mystery out of the draft in the process. But Long will give Bill Parcells a franchise Left Tackle to build around and is a solid pick at [...]

Contact me the morning of the draft on how to join or you can join anytime between now and then. Look forward to seeing you here!
Countdown to “D” Day
We are now one week away from the 2008 NFL Draft. I think I’ve seen more mock drafts than women hanging around Cardinals QB Matt Leinart. It’s time to heat up the debate Cardinal fans, as to who you think the Cardinals should take in the first round. I personally think they should go defense since that is where most of the help is needed right now, especially in the defensive secondary.
A lot of “experts” out there like the Cardinals for a RB. I don’t like that thought. Whoever it is will sit behind RB Edgerrin James for at least [...]
Cardinals 2008 Schedule Released
Well I must say that the schedule for your Arizona Cardinals looks to me winable early, manageable middle of the season, and rough at the end, even though the Cardinals play four of their last six games at home. Let’s take a look:
September 7th – @ San Francisco . . . . this is a should win; however see result from 2007 to get a firm understanding of what could really happen here. Does 2008 repeat? I don’t think so. Cardinals 23 San Francisco 21.
September 14th – Miami. . . . .if your Cardinals can’t win this one, don’t even bother [...]
A Potpourri of Issues
It’s been all quiet on from my end over the past couple of weeks, so I thought I’d drop by and offer my thoughts on a few subjects in and around the world of your Arizona Cardinals.
Did you know the Cardinals have selected their cheerleader team for the 2008 season? Yeah, I didn’t either. News has to be slow I guess if that’s a headline on azcardinals.com.
The Cardinals signed a couple of free agents this past week. QB Brian St. Pierre, who spent time with Pittsburgh and Baltimore and is from Boston College, was signed as the third QB. General Manager Rod [...]
After about a week of the talking heads and commentators going on and on about some photos taken at Arizona Cardinals QB Matt Leinart’s house in which the young millionaire is captured partying (wearing clothes I might add) with a few desirable young women, I feel it is our duty here at Raisingzona.com to present our own fair and balanced reporting on this topic.
GET OVER IT PEOPLE, SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!
Look here are some of the facts:
1. Matt Leinart is 25 years old. The last time I checked the legal drinking age in the state of Arizona was 21 years old.
2. Matt Leinart [...]
Well, it isn’t the regular season; however the Cardinals got some good news today as they were tapped for a Thursday night ESPN Pre-Season telecast on August 7th against the New Orleans Saints. The game is slated for a 5pm start. That is the first of four preseason games that were announced by the NFL today. The Cardinals are also scheduled to go to Kansas City in week 2, go to Oakland in week 3, and finish the preseason at home against Denver.
Other than the Saints game, not much to write home about. Why the NFL feels the need to pit [...]
