LSU, as was the case with USC and Notre Dame, have three players on the current Cardinals roster.  This group of three though collectively is more impressive than the other two schools.

The first guy to get here to Arizona was cornerback Patrick Peterson.  Peterson has now played in five seasons with the Cardinals. Peterson hasn’t missed a single game since being drafted in 2011.  In those 64 regular-season games, he has 17 interceptions but just one touchdown.  He did have four punt returns for touchdowns as a rookie.  He has not had a single one since though.

Kevin Minter has yet to show his full potential in a Cardinals uniform.  After his third season though there has been great improvement.  He started all 16 games for the first time in 2015.  He had 94 tackles, 50 more than in 2014.

The best of the bunch though may be safety Tyrann Mathieu.  Considered a risk pick up in the 2013 draft he has paid dividends and then some on and off the field for the Cardinals.  He suffered his second torn ACL injury back in December but should be back for the start of the 2016 season.  As we saw last time though, let’s give him time to heal and come back on his terms.
