Matt Wile

The punting competition hasn’t exactly turned out to be what some of us thought it would be. Neither guy has really stepped forward big time or at least blown us away.

It has however appeared that Richie Leone has out-performed Wile.  Wile has a 40.4 yards-per-punt-average.  Leone is at 48.4, which is good enough for fifth in the league in the 2017 preseason.  Each has punted eight times.

Is Leone the answer though?  Maybe the next Cardinals punter isn’t even on the roster?  At this rate though, Wile doesn’t look like the one that will survive.

About the only advantage Wile may have is he has pinned three punts inside the opponents 20-yardline while Leone has two.

Not sure if that is enough to keep Wile employed or not?  The Cardinals haven’t been too vocal on the position.  We should probably look for both to punt on Thursday night.  One of them will be unemployed by Saturday.
