Oakland Raiders

The Cardinals will get to face the Raiders for the first time since 2014.  In the last meeting, the two tangled in Oakland.

The Cardinals defeated the Raiders 24-13 in that game.  The last regular season visit by the Raiders to University of Phoenix Stadium was in 2010.  The Cardinals won that game as well 24-23.

The last time the Raiders defeated the Cardinals was in 2006 in Oakland.  The Raiders won that contest 22-9.

Now the Raiders are going to face the Cardinals with their new head coach, Jon Gruden.  Gruden returns after a nine-year hiatus from coaching.

The only time the Cardinals faced Gruden during his first stint in Oakland from 1998-2001 was in December 2001 near the end of his time there.  The Cardinals won a 34-31 overtime thriller.

This will be the third visit to Arizona for the Raiders since the Cardinals moved from St. Louis.  The Cardinals are 1-2 against the Raiders in those three games.  Barring a preseason or postseason game, this will be the last time the Cardinals will see them as the Oakland Raiders.
