Josh Bynes, linebacker

While we know there will be roster turnover starting come March, there are some of the Cardinals own free agents it would be nice to see stay in Arizona.  Bynes is one of those individuals.

Bynes, who played his first season in Arizona in 2017 after the previous three in Detroit and three in Baltimore before that, showed he is a true asset. He played in 14 games for the Cardinals last season.

Bynes’ name was called often coming off the bench.  Despite starting just one game, Bynes had 36 tackles with three passes defensed and an interception.  He also had two forced fumbles.

Bynes adds depth to a position that showed needed some last year after injury.  Guys like Haason Reddick can learn a lot from a veteran like Bynes.

Hopefully the Cardinals have Bynes at or near the top of targets to pursue once free agency begins. We know they can’t re-sign everyone they’d want to because of certain needs but it sure would be nice to see Bynes one of the returnees.
