Chris Hubbard, guard

It can be difficult to land a good offensive lineman in free agency.  After all, if he was that good, why is his current team letting him go.

That question could be asked of the Pittsburgh Steelers about Hubbard.  He is 26, not terribly expensive, but apparently expendable.  Reports are he will not return to the Steelers.

Enter Arizona.  The Cardinals may end up not keeping aging Mike Iupati.  Hubbard’s age and experience are both a plus.

Although primarily a backup in Pittsburgh, Hubbard would likely be a starter if he came to Arizona.  He’s that good.  He would also likely command a decent payday.

Knowing the troubles the Cardinals had on the offensive line last year, this could end up being a guy they could conceivably overpay for.  At this point though, you have to believe fans would be alright with that if it meant the quarterback was staying upright more than not.
