Bene Benwikere

So much has been made about the second starting corner job opposite Patrick Peterson in this offseason.  Much from media, from us, from fans.  It seems like forever.

Benwikere may have stolen the starting spot from Jamar Taylor on Friday night.  At least, that’s the way it looks right now.

I don’t think the Cardinals will go wrong with either and whoever the starter isn’t, the other one will still see plenty of playing time.  It is good to have that kind of problem.

Benwikere had a beautiful interception of the Saints in the first half Friday.  He also had two passes defensed in preseason week one against the Chargers.

It is all about always being around the ball.  Anything can happen if the corner is not only able to stay with his man but also make a move on the ball.  The last couple of weeks of preseason could be more exciting at cornerback than once thought.
