Running backs (4) and Fullbacks (2)
RB: David Johnson, Chase Edmonds, D.J. Foster, T.J. Logan
FB: Derrick Coleman, Elijhaa Penny
As far as Johnson will take this group is as far as the Cardinals will go this season. Don’t sleep on Edmonds though. He has shown some great promise early on.
D.J. Foster is fairly versatile, so there should be a place on the roster for him. Logan will likely get most of his work on special teams unless an injury occurs.
At fullback, which returns to the Cardinals offensive scheme for the first time in six seasons, don’t be surprised if they keep both on the current roster. Coleman is the likely starter.
That doesn’t mean Penny won’t get work. In fact, last year as a running back he showed some promise towards the end of the season. He could see work at both.
We know about Johnson’s versatility but Edmonds at this point has shown in the first two weeks he deserves more than a few token carries each week.
