Brooks Reed, LB
He was the second free agent to be picked up by the Cardinals in the offseason. As soon as the Atlanta Falcons released him, the Cardinals pounced.
The issue here isn’t health. In fact he has played all 16 games each of the last two seasons. The fact is now age could catch up.
Hopefully we’re just grasping at straws here though. At 32, he has nine years of NFL experience behind him. He only had one sack last season after having four the previous year.
The Falcons decided he was going to be too expensive for what they thought he could produce. Did the Cardinals jump on him quickly because they could? They do own first waiver rights until week four of the 2019 season.
Just because you can doesn’t always mean you should. That all being said, we will all be completely cheering him on, hoping he isn’t a bust. He’s one to keep a close eye on during training camp.
