#99 Roderick Hood

Hood was a member of the Cardinals from 2007-2008.  The defensive back wasn’t tall, he stood 5’11, however he didn’t play to his size.  The Cardinals have had a knack for getting some good productivity out of smaller players in the defensive secondary.

Hood spent his first four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before moving on the desert with the Cardinals.  He spent eight seasons in the NFL from 2003-2011.

Hood had an especially good 2007 season, Ken Whisenhunt‘s first season as head coach of the Cardinals.  The Cards went 8-8 that season, in part thanks to Hood’s efforts.

Hood had five interceptions and a whopping 21 passes defensed that season.  That lead the NFL.  He also had one interception in the Cardinals Super Bowl season of 2008 to go along with another 14 passes defensed.

Ironically Hood spent his last season in the NFL in 2011 with the then St. Louis Rams, the Cardinals previous home.  However his most productive years were the two in Arizona by far.
