In what seems like a broken record already, the Washington Redskins could not hold a large double-digit lead either.  They led the Philadelphia Eagles 17-0 in the second quarter on Sunday.

It looked like maybe their decision to deactivate running back Adrian Peterson wasn’t going to back fire after all.  Of course it did in the end tough as running back Derrius Grice hurt himself again.  He just just 10 carries for 18-yards on Sunday.

The defense still had the benefit of protecting a 20-7 lead at halftime.  However the Eagles scored 25 unanswered points and by then the writing was on the wall.

Week 2 will see the Redskins return home for their opener there against the 1-0 Dallas Cowboys.  If the Skins lose to the Cowboys it will be two losses within the division, a very difficult hole they are unlikely to crawl out from, even this early in the season.
