team. 42. . 1-0. . San Francisco 49ers. 13

Surprisingly, the 49ers find themselves high on the rankings here after week one.  They went on the road and had a very strong defensive performance.

They also got quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo back after his torn ACL in 2018.  He went 18-27 for 166-yards.  He threw a touchdown and an interception.  The interception was returned for a touchdown.

The 49ers running game was not where they’d like it be.  They rushed for just 98-yards as a team.  The halftime score still had this one very much in doubt, with the 49ers down 7-6.

The second half however, the 49ers got it going.  They had two interception returns for touchdowns, one by cornerback Richard Sherman and the other by cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon.

Now the 49ers have to continue their road travels in week 2.  They head to face the Cincinnati Bengals, who fell to the Seattle Seahawks in week 1.  A win would be huge, giving them a 2-0 start in the NFC West.
