123. . 1-0. . Dallas Cowboys. 5. team

The Dallas Cowboys were without running back Ezekiel Elliott in the preseason.  He held out for a new contract.  Four days prior to the start of the season, he finally got his contract and subsequently went out and proved he may have not needed training camp and the preseason after all.

Elliott carried the ball just 13 times for 53-yards as he shared time on the field with running back Tony Pollard.  However Pollard’s 13 carries netted him just 24-yards.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was the star on Sunday in Dallas.  He completed 25-32 passes for 405-yards.  He also had a league-high 4 touchdowns passes on Sunday afternoon.  He too was out to prove he deserved the contract he’s currently asking for.

The only difference here was Prescott looked more like he got some preseason work.  His numbers proved that against the New York Giants.

They aren’t going to go out and beat everyone 35-17 like they did the Giants but it is definitely a good start.  They go to face the Washington Redskins on the road in week 2.
