Budda Baker

There wasn’t much to be excited about from a defensive standpoint on Thursday night against the 49ers. Some guys didn’t appear to be giving full effort.  We won’t name them here.

However one guy who absolutely showed up was safety Budda Baker.  He may have played his best game overall since being drafted by the Cardinals.

On the night he had 13 tackles, 2 of them for a loss.  He also had 3 passes defensed.  He broke up some nice throws on Thursday night.

There had been some questions from fans about Baker recently and whether he was still a good fit.  Thursday night should have put any of those doubts to rest against one of the best teams currently in the NFL.

Now we just have to hope we see that kind of performance more consistently.  The Cardinals will eventually turn these efforts into wins someday soon but they need a buy in from more than just Baker in the secondary.
