Keeping a third quarterback

The reports coming out of Cardinals training camp was the team was having a tough time deciding the backup behind Kyler Murray.  Brett Hundley and Chris Streveler were in competition for the spot.

So instead of deciding to cut one, they decided to keep both.  At least that’s the stance for now.  Maybe the Cardinals are taking an extra week to make the backup decision.

That very well could be the case here.  The Cardinals could spend a few more days of practice in making the number two decision.

Then they could cut one of the two between Hundley and Streveler and decide to add a seventh receiver or fourth running back?  That’s strictly a guess however.

Hundley has proven he can get the job done but Streveler had to have impressed in camp to make this decision tougher.  If they do decide to stick with Hundley as the backup in the end, Streveler could still go on the practice squad.  Then again, maybe they just stick with three quarterbacks?
