Isabella is still in position to make the roster

Receiver Andy Isabella hasn’t received many high marks from fans or the team for that matter since his arrival in 2019. Yet here he sits on the depth chart at second string behind A.J. Green.

That puts him in the top six receivers, thus in position to make the final roster. It also might not be the only reason he is kept around.

He currently sits first on the depth chart at kick returner. Rookie Rondale Moore currently sits behind him at the position.

What even makes this even more notable is Isabella was just added to the team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list for the second time since training camp started. That means fewer reps in camp and he definitely will be out for Friday’s game against the Cowboys.

He just as easily could end up the first man out if the Cardinals find another receiver on the free-agent market, maybe someone like Larry Fitzgerald? If Fitz returns, then maybe Isabella is expendable if Moore can win the kick returning job?
