Now entering his second season, Walter Nolen III needed a counterpart in the middle of the defensive line, and the Cardinals finally got him the guy he was looking for.
The Arizona Cardinals' defensive line consisted of Nolen, Josh Sweat, Calais Campbell, and now Andrew Billings.
The former Chicago Bear signed with Arizona on a one-year deal, with the terms of the contract not disclosed as of now.

One of the Cardinals' biggest issues in 2025 was not being able to stop the run, as they allowed 126 yards per game. They ranked 25th in the league by that metric.
Adding Billing to the unit is a huge boost, as he was a run-stopping machine. While he isn’t your typical defensive tackle who can get after the quarterback, he makes up for it by being able to draw attention on the interior.
Billings signed with the Bears in 2023, where he started all 17 games for them. He then went on to sign a two-year extension worth $8.5 million.
In 2024, Billings only appeared in half the team's games, recording only one sack and 13 tackles. In 2025, he appeared in all 17 games, only starting in 14 of them. In that period, he recorded one sack and 31 tackles.
The Cardinals desperately needed to stop the run, and they found a guy who is fully capable of doing it in Andrew Billings. He is a cheap, feasible option up front and will serve as a good mentor to Walter Nolen III, who looks to make a difference in 2026 after an injury-riddled 2025 campaign.
It will be interesting to see how he fares this upcoming season.
