The Arizona Cardinals hold the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft courtesy of a three-win 2025 season. With that, there are plenty of routes that they can take to better their roster, which, to be completely honest, isn’t as bad on paper as their dismal record showed.
Arizona saw the passing offense take a massive step forward with Jacoby Brissett under center from Week 6 onward, revealing how solid the unit could be as a whole if it addressed some of its weaknesses. One of the key players to take that big leap was Michael Wilson, who eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career.
Monti Ossenfort made sure to address every need that the offense needed to ensure the franchise took a step forward in terms of improving a unit that had taken great strides.
Arizona added Tyler Allgeier to improve a relatively weak running back room, while also addressing the interior of the offensive line with Isaac Seumalo.
These moves have given Ossenfort the flexibility of doing whatever he feels is right with the third overall pick in the draft, which has plenty of marquee prospects headlining the draft class.

While it is unlikely, the question is whether or not the Cardinals will trade back in the draft. Ossenfort hasn’t exactly ruled that option out, so if it were to happen, who would he take?
Arizona’s biggest loss in free agency was Jalen Thompson, who departed for Dallas on a three-year deal worth $33 million.
The truth is, the Cardinals could very well be in the business of drafting Ohio State safety Caleb Downs in the pick six-through-ten range. A 3.9 GPA with excellent awareness in the field, he could be the perfect fit next to Budda Baker.
Will it happen, maybe. Only time will tell.
