What They Are Saying About the Cardinals
Darren Urban from azcardinals.com says the Cardinals need to tighten up the defense. He also thinks the Cardinals would do themselves good by scoring first. I couldn’t agree more! Jason Harris of the AZRedReport on scout.com reports the Cardinals are the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons. That was also my fear if the Cardinals went 0-2 on this trip. Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic discusses the Cardinals humbling visit to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center this past Friday in Washington D.C. Mike Sando of ESPN.com thought the Cardinals decision to stay back east was [...]
TV Crew Announced for Cardinals-Bills game
ESPN.com’s Mike Sando reports that the game this week between the Buffalo Bills and the Arizona Cardinals on CBS, will be called by Bill Macatee and Steve Beuerlein. They rank seventh out of seven CBS crews. I’m surprised after last week they even wanted to send a crew to televise the game. Well, I guess the Buffalo fans, oops, I mean Toronto (does Toronto even get CBS?) fans will have something to watch. Look at the bright side, at least this is the same crew that called the Dolphins-Cardinals game at University of Phoenix stadium three weeks ago and we [...]
Around the Fansided Network
Looking at what’s going around the NFL, more so around the Fan-Sided Network and what bloggers are saying about their teams today. First and foremost, I have to mention the Dallas Cowboys. One of their bloggers, and I say one cause I know not everyone over at The Landry Hat agree on this, but it seems that said blogger is upset over a field goal called good when he believes it was not good. Click on TLH’s link I provided and decide for yourself. He even thinks the missed call was made on purpose because of comments made about the [...]
NFC West Breakdown: Week 4
(Scott Allen writes for Raising Zona, which is FSB’s Arizona Cardinals blog. Representing the rest of the NFC West are 12th Man Rising, Niner Noise. and Ramblin’ Fan.) Not sure if we learned anything new in week 4 with the teams from the NFC West that took the field. The Arizona Cardinals continued their road woes in a big way. The St. Louis Rams squandered an early 4th quarter lead to eventually get blown out by the Buffalo Bills, and the San Francisco 49ers lost on the road to the New Orleans Saints. Seattle was the only team to avoid [...]
Just Like Drinking From an Empty Can
The Cardinals were full of hope and promise just two weeks ago. Now, they just hope to avoid disaster. However these last two weeks remind me of great clip from National Lampoon’s Vacation. You get your hopes up all high and your handed a gift, only to find the gift is worth nothing at all.
Boldin Hurt in Waning Seconds
I had already turned off the game, so I missed the live event and thank God I did. I just saw the replays of the hit on Anquan Boldin. Uncalled for. Ugly. Unecessary. Name your adjective. Reports are he is ok and tests are negative after being carted off into an ambulance after a helmet-to-helmet hit. He is staying overnight in a New York hospital for precautionary reasons. Hope to see you soon Q! Take care! For a great take on this and the rest of the game, please go read the write up by the Arizona Republic’s Dan Bickley. [...]
Cardinals Embrace Old Traditions, Annihilated 56-35
I really don’t have enough time in my day to explain what just took place in New Freakin Jersey. No seriously, I really don’t have the time, nor do I have the patience to relive the natural disaster at the Meadowlands. Where do I begin? In fact, the list of possibilities are so long, it may never end. Ok, so I think I need to break it down by categories. Turnovers: The Cardinals committed six turnovers and realistically could have committed a couple more had they not recovered the ball. You can’t go into New York and play the Jets [...]
Taking a Jets Beating
End of 1st Quarter 0-0
Jets are knocking on the door. They will have a 2nd and goal to start the 2nd quarter. Expect the Jets to find the endzone on the next play. A promising 1st quarter turned sour really fast and now Favre looks to be getting his groove on. It’s going to be 7-0 soon. Let’s hope the Cards can reduce the mistakes in the 2nd quarter. Scott Allen
Going to Be a Long Day
So, as we sit here with still more than a third of the first quarter left, the Cardinals have already done enough to lose this game. All week this was my concern. Mental breakdowns, poor decision making, and just overall poor play. In case you are keeping track so far, Warner fumbled the ball for a -23 yard loss Boldin fumbled the ball on the next play back to the Jets Warner gets called for intentional grounding on 3rd down Neil Rackers has a FG blocked. Not exactly inspirational football. Scott Allen
