Week 4 Preview: Cards vs. Steelers

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Now this is the one that we’ve been waiting for……. It’s the first matchup for Arizona Cardinals new Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt against his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers roll into town with a perfect record of 3-0 after a thorough beat down of the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday in Pittsburgh. But Whisenhunt along with Asst Head Coach and former Pittsburgh assistant Russ Grimm will be on a mission to show the Steeler’s front office that their decision not to offer him the head coaching position was their loss and Arizona’s gain en route to handing them [...]

Bruised & Broken: Injury Impact on NFC West

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

You never want to see a guy hurt on the field. Memories of former Lions player Mike Utley and Jets D-Lineman Dennis Byrd from years ago as well as the recent injury to Bills TE Kevin Everett are hard to shake and are something you never wish upon any player. And definately, my thoughts and prayers go out to Everett and his family as he continues to amaze us all with his remarkable recovery. But along with us, some of our division rivals have taken some heavy losses in only the first 3 weeks of the season. Here’s a quick [...]

No QB Controversy Here – Leinart is the Starter

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Everybody is very quick to turn on Arizona Cardinals QB Matt Leinart this week, and I can understand why. After the second straight sub par performance on the road, Leinart was replaced by Kurt Warner who did an excellent job running the team’s no huddle offense and nearly brought home a win. It’s easy to look at Kurt’s numbers and get caught up in what he was able to accomplish out there on Sunday, but let’s keep things in perspective people. Everyone in the Cards nation was so quick to turn on Warner last year after an awful 3 game [...]

Cards Show A Lot Of Moxie In Tough Loss To Ravens

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, as I predicted, it came down to special teams plays. The Arizona Cardinals dropped their second game of the year in a game that came down to the wire against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at M&T Stadium. Being down 23-6 heading into the fourth quarter was familiar territory for the Cards over the past few years, but this year’s ballclub showed a lot of heart out there on the field. Back-up QB Kurt Warner replaced Matt Leinart in the second half and led the team’s no huddle package to near-perfection and 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter [...]

Meet Mad Jack – The No. 1 Cards Fan

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

If you’re any kind of Arizona Cardinals fan than you have seen the banner which is proudly displayed at every single home game. You know, the banner that hangs above the endzone and has a different slogan printed on top of the Arizona state flag. Well, I got to meet the one guy who is responsible for designing it during my weekend in AZ – Meet Mad Jack. Mad Jack (pictured right) and me standing in front of the banner (on the ground) Jack is the only Cards fan allowed to hang a banner in the stadium, and he’s been [...]

Week 3 Preview – Cards @ Ravens

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

This week the Arizona Cardinals take on the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Stadium in Baltimore, MD where the Ravens have won 12 of their last 13 and have allowed only 11.7 points per game in those 12 victories. Due to having one of the most suffocating defensive teams in the league consistently over the past few seasons, they posted a 13-3 regular season record last year (2nd best in the NFL) and are 11-5 against NFC opponents since 2003. So what does all of this mean for the Cards this Sunday? Nothing………because this Ravens team is overhyped and ripe for [...]

For the Troops – Cheerleaders doing their part

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hello Raisingzona fans!! Well it was a nice win against the Seahawks and a great boost of self esteem for the Cardinals organization last Sunday! While most people were busy watching football, I was actually making preparations for my 2nd annual “Sweethearts for Soldiers” calendar. What is this you may ask? Well fans, let me give you a little background. When I was cheering for the Arizona Cardinals I was also a member of the Showteam, the elite group of cheerleaders that get to travel performing for the troops. While a member of the Showteam I had the amazing opportunity [...]

Bring On The Noise!! Home Crowd Comes Up Big In Win

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Both Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt and Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Mike Holmgren commented on the sellout crowd at University of Phoenix Stadium on hand for the game this past Sunday, here’s what they had to say: Whisenhunt “Personally, at the end of the game, what means more to me was when it was a critical situation and our defense had to make a play, the crowd was there and they were into the game……….And that, to me, means that we have a chance if we do what we’re supposed to do, to get something pretty special here as [...]

No Denying It, We Are A Football Town Now!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Now as some of you may be aware I’m an active duty Army Officer and I’ve been in for nine years now. Currently I am stationed out in Virginia and surrounded in freakin’ Redskin country. Usually I am forced to have my Arizona Cardinals experience limited to my couch, my tv, and myself as my wife usually lets me watch the games on my own because I tend to get “a little fired up” (as she so delicately puts it). But not this past weekend, uh-uh……I got to be there for the home opener against Seattle, my first trip to [...]
