OTA’s This Week
The Arizona Cardinals return to the practice field this week for Organized Team Activities. They will run tomorrow through Friday at their Tempe headquarters. Some questions still remain as we head into June, only a couple of months away from training camp in Flagstaff. Will Deuce Lutui show up? My guess is probably not. Will Ken Whisenhunt continue to field questions about the quarterback position? My bet is on yes. Will Matt Leinart do anything to solidify his standing as the starting quarterback? My eight ball says highly unlikely. We’re about to head into the quietest time of the year [...]
Around the NFC West
The Arizona Cardinals aren’t making a lot of noise lately, however that hasn’t stopped business from happening around the rest of the NFC West. Today the Seattle Seahawks released LenDale White. I’m a little surprised to see Seattle give up on him so quick after an exciting draft day trade back in April. Word is a suspension from the NFL is looming. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. Either way, I’m a little happy the Cards won’t have to face him twice a year. A debate is going on in St. Louis as to [...]
Say What? New York to Host 2014 Super Bowl
Ok, I get this world seemingly tends to revolve around New York. I’m tired of fighting it. Don’t like the New York Giants, Jets I can take or leave. The Yankees are one my most hated teams in all of sports. The Mets are a joke (much like this years Arizona Diamondbacks). The Islanders haven’t been relevant since the 80′s. The Rangers, are, well, the Rangers. The Knicks don’t have a clue and are an embarrassment. Did I touch em’ all? Who cares, right? When I heard that New York was in the running for the 2014 Super Bowl, I [...]
Larry Fitzgerald Interviewed at Vazquez-Marquez IV
Larry Fitzgerald was interviewed last night at Vazquez-Marquez IV at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. They will find him anywhere I tell you.
Cards Need to Take Page from Inter Milan
Inter Milan won the Champions League 2-0 today on a pair of goals by Diego Milito to win their first championship in 45 years. Whatever they did en route to their championship. The Arizona Cardinals need to take the same attitude. Why give up on the dream just because you have some roster changes? Winning a lot of the times reflects the coach. For Inter Milan, their coach, Jose Mourinho, who calls himself “Special One”, is know to be a hot commodity and rumors have him going to Real Madrid next season. As for the Cardinals, winning the NFC West [...]
Happy Birthday Pac-Man!
Happy birthday to the yellow chomper, Pac-Man. Today he celebrates his 30th anniversary. If you pay attention to some of the lines in the popular song “Pac-Man Fever” by Buckner and Garcia, it is not all that different from explaining the Arizona Cardinals. “I’m gonna eat them up as soon as they turn blue” Of course that sounds like what happened to the Minnesota Vikings last season when they visited University of Phoenix Stadium. The Vikings turned all black and blue, experienced a couple of injuries and the Cards ate them up for the most impressive win of the season. [...]
Rumors Continue to Swirl Around Bulger
Depending on who you believe, Marc Bulger may soon be a member of the Arizona Cardinals. That unless of course you believe Cards general manager Rod Graves, who said current Cards quarterbacks Matt Leinart and Derek Anderson are doing just fine. Of course that contradicts reports that coach Ken Whisenhunt has not been happy with the off-season performance of either QB yet. Graves shot it down today, but seemed to have left open the possibility of a Marc Bulger led Cardinals team. I’m not personally in favor of the move. If he was no good for the St. Louis Rams, [...]
Lutui Still a No-Show
Deuce Lutui. Paging Deuce Lutui. Oh where are you? I can tell you where he’s not. He’s not at Arizona Cardinals OTA’s. I wonder why? I’ll tell you why, he’s not gettin’ his. Obviously he is more worried about himself than the team. I know these workouts are voluntary, however, if you are a team on the rise and now need every player more than ever with the amount of turnover that has taken place in the off-season, I find it a little bit selfish on his part. I get you want to get paid and what’s fair for you [...]
Dockett Creates Stir on Ustream
I follow Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett on Twitter. He goes by ddockett for all of you who care. This week he created a stir when he was dared to take a shower on another form of social media, Ustream. Did he do it? Sure he did. Darnell Dockett has never been one to really care what others think of him. You see that attitude both on and off the field with him. When I heard on the Scott Van Pelt show on ESPN Radio yesterday about him taking this dare, my initial thought was “Wow!” As I thought [...]
Four Months and Counting
The 2010 NFL Season officially kicks off four months from today. If you are counting at home, we’ve almost reached the half-way point of the off-season for your Arizona Cardinals. Their last game was on January 14th. The Cardinals have made many moves, most have been decent to replace what has been lost. The jury will remain out on the quarterback position and the draft picks until we get to training camp and even then probably not until we get to the regular season. We are in a pretty quiet time of the off-season, but don’t let your guard down, [...]
