Super Bowl XLIII: One Day to Go

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Super Bowl | COMMENTS: None Yet

Only about 26 hours to go before kickoff.  Just the partying is left to do before the actual game.
Megan Finnerty, blogger for azcentral.com, says Wyclef Jean is a Steelers fan, however we have Jared (of Subway fame) is behind the Cardinals, although his head still says take the Steelers.
Hey, take what you can get.  His head must be dizzy though from the lack of carb and caloric intake since his “head” still says Steelers.  My head however has no issues, go Cardinals!!
Mike Sando of ESPN.com says that the Cardinals have made all the right moves, espeically the one in bringing [...]

Convincing the Doubters

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Super Bowl | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Adam Best, editor and lead writer of arrowheadaddict.com, who also happens to co-manage the Fansided Network with his brother Zach, challenged me and our Steelers lead blogger, Chris, from nicepickcowher.com to convince him, and others, why our respective teams can win this Super Bowl.
My case is published over on msn.foxsports.com/nfl.
Chris makes his case as well on msn.foxsports.com/nfl.
Adam starts the conversation over on arrowheadaddict.com.
Please leave me a comment or send me an email letting me know what you think.
Go Cardinals!

Super Bowl XLIII Preview: Arizona Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Super Bowl | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

On Sunday February 1st, 2009 the Arizona Cardinals will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida.  This will be the Cardinals first trip to the big game.  Believe it not, the NFL has not canceled the game due to lack of interest or just because your Cardinals happen to be representing the NFC in the biggest sporting event of the year.
Arizona Cardinals
How they got here:
The Cardinals started off the postseason in the wild card game against the Atlanta Falcons at University of Phoenix Stadium.  That was after finishing off the regular season 9-7, a record a [...]

By BetUS
When Super Bowl XLIII comes calling on Sunday, Feb. 1, BetUS will take in the most action of the year on one single game from any sport. By far, it’s the biggest bet on event in America. Millions of sports betting dollars will be placed on the big game, ranging from the coin toss, half-time show (featuring Bruce Springsteen), clear through the games final score. And this year, you can even bet on the Cardinals. That’s right, the Arizona Cardinals are in the Super Bowl!
The Pittsburgh Steelers know all about the Super Bowl, [...]

Cardinals Hardly A Fluke

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Super Bowl | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Finally.  This is the type of nut I’ve been looking for.  It was bound to happen. First, as the playoffs began, we had the Arizona Cardinals being called the worst playoff team ever.  Then they beat Atlanta.  Then that was called a fluke and given no chance against Carolina on the road.  Now there were believers.  Then came the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles.  They won and made it to the Super Bowl and we’ve started back at square one with someone.
Charles P. Pierce, a staff writer for Boston Globe Magazine says in a piece written for slate.com that [...]

Life Will Be Sweet Beating Pittsburgh (contest)

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Off-Topic | COMMENTS: 13 Comments

We are only 9 days away from the big game in Tampa, Florida.  Super Bowl XLIII featuring, as you know, our Arizona Cardinals vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Cardinals are in their first Super Bowl and the Steelers are in their seventh Super Bowl and have won five of the first six they participated in.   The Cardinals, as usual, are the mighty underdogs.  That rolls just fine with me as it does with the organization.  That will make beating Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl that much sweeter!
To commemorate the event, I thought what better way to gear up for the [...]

Super Bowl XLIII: Wednesday

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Super Bowl | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Arizona Cardinals practiced at the Tampa Bay Buccanneers practice facility on Wednesday in preparation for Super Bowl XLIII on Sunday.
Returning to practice was J.J. Arrington.  Although limited, it was very good to see him back.  Also practicing, however limited, was Travis LaBoy and Antonio Smith.
It is also good to see LaBoy back out there after the way he left the Philadelphia game with a groin injury.  It looked like he wouldn’t be back for awhile.

The Cardinals kept their same practice routine.  That is very important as this week is anything but routine.  The Cardinals coaching staff has been doing [...]

Country Split on Super Bowl

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Super Bowl | COMMENTS: None Yet

Here’s a number I never thought I’d see – the country is split 50/50 right now as for who they think will win on Sunday.  That is of course, if you believe the 325,000 plus voters on ESPN.com.
It sounds like to me more and more are starting to believe in the Arizona Cardinals story.  How can not you not?  This country is still in such shock over the Cardinals participation and since not many people outside of Arizona know much about these Cardinals, they are still the talk on most national sports shows, both on TV and radio.
I just got [...]

Super Bowl XLIII Media Day

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Super Bowl | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Today was the annual Media Day event at Super Bowl XLIII.  The Cardinals took a team photo, some looking like they couldn’t wait to get it over with and some looking like they would stand there on cloud nine for you all day.  During the interviews, the Cardinals appeared to be a loose bunch and quite happy to be in the position they are in.
Kurt Warner talked about the Cardinals team chemistry.  He is the leader of this team and he has been preparing teammates on what to expect this week.
Here’s a guy who has to be loving every minute.  [...]
