Cardinals NFL Draft Preview: Tight End

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

As stocked as the Arizona Cardinals were at tight end just a couple of seasons ago, it seems as if the well has run dry at the position a little ever since the Super Bowl run.  The Cards drafted Jim Dray last season out of Stanford, but as far as I am concerned, the jury is still out on him.  At times it seemed as if a ghost would have played better at the position than he did.  What do I know though, right? So, is there a chance the Cards go tight end in the draft?  I suppose there [...]

Cardinals NFL Draft Preview: Offensive Line

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, Breaking News, Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

You would think this would be a glaring need for the Arizona Cardinals, but little has been said this off-season about the Cards need at the offensive line position.  Most likely this is the case because of how much the quarterback debate has overshadowed all that talk. The Cards really could use a few good offensive linemen.  Problem is, this is the one position you don;t want to get too young in at this point given the direction the Cards want and should go in.  They have more glaring needs to fix.  However, that doesn’t mean the Cards would stay [...]

Cardinals NFL Draft Preview: Linebackers

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Cardinals have another need, at linebacker.   As with the other positions, there some good ones out there to be had, including Von Miller from Texas A&M.  Many experts have the Cardinals looking in his direction in April.  I’m not convinced it is the best choice given all the needs the Cards have, but he is an exciting player. If they don’t draft Miller, I still expect them to address the position later in the draft.  You may even see a couple of linebackers drafted as the Cards attempt to keep the position young.  Who do you think [...]

Cardinals NFL Draft Preview: Cornerbacks

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Cardinals sure could us a good cornerback. There are a few good ones out there this year and maybe, just maybe, they will find a gem in the first round.  With all quarterback situation as messy as it is, it may be a better bet.  So who are the best ones out there?  Prince Amukamara is a popular choice.  Patrick Peterson may be the guy the Cards go after though.  There is a good bet he will be available at number five.  He has already come out and said he’d love to play here.  Who do you think [...]

NFL Draft Preview: Best Quarterback Fit For Arizona Cardinals

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Even if the Arizona Cardinals don’t take a quarterback in the first round there is a good bet they pick one up in the later rounds if the timing is right.  So the question is who would that man be?  If they pick someone in the first round, that guy is probably going top be Blaine Gabbert unless something happens and Cam Newton is still available. Newton probably isn’t a great fit for the Cardinals and from what I hear and read, many of you agree on that point.  Of course the hope is the Cards can find a veteran [...]

As Far Apart As They Are, Both Sides Need to Come to Agreement

AUTHOR: | IN: News, NFL, Popular, Predictions | COMMENTS: None Yet

With a deadline looming this Friday for the expiration of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, word is the side are no where close to an agreement, even with a federal mediator overseeing the negotiations.  No surprise there.  Only surprise may be how long a possible lockout will last.

Taking Time Out for the Oscars

AUTHOR: | IN: Off-Topic, Popular, Predictions | COMMENTS: None Yet

The question about tonight’s 83rd Oscars has to be will it be as much a foregone conclusion that Colin Firth will win Best Actor and The King’s Speech will win Best Picture as it was the Arizona Cardinals were going nowhere fast early on in the 2010 season?  As much as I enjoyed some of the other films, I think the Oscars are a forgone conclusion.

Cardinals Starting Quarterback

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

Now that the draft situation is as clear as mud, who will be the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals in 2011? Will it be John Skelton? Maybe. Max Hall? No way. Marc Bulger? There’s a shot. Who knows right now? We can all make our best guesses though.

Speculation Abound on Cards Draft Choice

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s all the talk right now with the Arizona Cardinals. Who are they taking in the first round at number five. The other day I mentioned I still thought they would go quarterback. There are sources out there now who think otherwise. I still say all depends on the free-agent market or a trade, which all depends on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement in place.

Combine Probably Doesn’t Change Cardinals Minds

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone, NFL, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

As far as I am concerned, the NFL Combine is more of an afterthought this year, especially with the labor strife continuing.  However, the show goes on, but how much the Combine changes the minds of what the Arizona Cardinals want to do remains to be seen.
