Can the Little Guy Please Have a Hug?
This is what it is all about. How about some applause for University of Cincinnati Wide Receiver Marty Gilyard in last night’s game against South Florida. Talk about class. This young man was attempting to catch a touchdown pass and accidentally had his momentum carry into the stands only to run over a 7 year old boy. Before he returned to the field, he made sure the little boy, who was crying, was ok and then gave him a hug. That’s something you won’t see very often, especially in the pro game. Thanks Marty Gilyard. You are a true gentleman! [...]
I’ve Heard from Bill Walsh
In case you haven’t seen the funniest clip of the week, I thought I would just chime in on Danyelle Sargent, the reporter who asked 49ers coach Mike Singletary about his conversation with his mentor Bill Walsh (who happens to be dead) last week. Great stuff! Unfortunately this clip was able to be found earlier in the week, but has since been removed from the sites that were showing it. Apparently the interview was never meant to reach the airwaves. It was picked up on satellite though and that’s how it got out to the mainstream media. Word to the wise, if [...]
Cardinals Charity Bowling Tonight
So I hear the Cardinals are going to attend a charity bowling event down in Chandler at Kyrene Lanes. For $75 per ticket, you too could go and watch others bowl, because at this point, the lanes are sold out. However, you can join in the standing room only fun and watch players bowl. Wow. I realize the money is going to charity, but seriously, spending $75 to stand in a crowd of people to watch them bowl? I’d rather just give the $75 outright to the charity and be done with it. I hope they don’t let Travis Laboy [...]
Same Old Cardinals
Yep – until this freakin team can figure out how to get their heads out of their assess on the road, this team will NEVER, and I mean NEVER will make the playoffs. I’m almost afraid this team will back into the playoffs because the NFC West as a whole is so stinkin rotten, it makes dog crap smell like a delicacy. I’m not sure I’ve seen a more frustrating loss than I’ve seen today. I have a ton of reasons why this team lost and there will be hundreds if not thousands of people that will say they told [...]
Breaking News?
ESPN had a breaking news crawl about 30 minutes ago that Anquan Boldin was active and going to play. I realize the inactives list doesn’t get released until just before game time, but really breaking news?? I think we all knew he was going to play. He said he was going to play and coach Ken Whisenhunt said he would play. So, how is this breaking news again?? I guess if someone stubbs their toe, on ESPN it’s breaking news. Then there is Jay Glazer over at FOX. Does one ever wonder how he gets all his news so quickly? [...]
Week 8 Preview: Arizona (4-2) at Carolina (5-2)
When: 1pm (4pm est) Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC TV/Radio: FOX 10/KTAR 620 What’s the deal?: The Arizona Cardinals are coming off their bye week as they head east to face the NFC South’s Carolina Panthers. Carolina is coming off a huge home win last week against the New Orleans Saints, one week removed from being embarrassed by the Tampa Bucs. This it the Cards 2nd trip back east this season. The Cardinals health is better in some aspects and worse in others, although the Cardinals overall are relatively healthy compared to other NFL teams. Reciever Anquan Boldin [...]
Moving Forward
Ok, enough talk about the Dallas game. We got a big game in two days against the Carolina Panthers, a team that has defeated the Cards four times in a row, including 25-10 last season in the battle of the 3rd stringers. From the injury front, it appears only Anquan Boldin is listed and he will most likely play on Sunday. The Panthers also appear to be almost at full strength. Should be a great game. More on it later… Go Cards! Scott Allen AZScott
I Take it Back
So I heard today that Boomer Esiason apologized to Troy Aikman for comments he made last week about Aikman being biased in his coverage of the Dallas Cowboys. What a crock. The man can’t stand behind his comments, for which I agreed with. It was clear that Aikman was bias in his comments in covering the Cards-Cowchips game on Oct 12th. I’m guessing he was probably told to offer an apology or look for work elsewhere. Listen, I think an apology is only necessary if the comments weren’t true. Well, I guess I won’t have to worry about Aikman this [...]

NFL Games on TV in Arizona This Weekend
If you’re like me and don’t have Direct TV and are held hostage by regular networks, then here are the games on TV this week here in Arizona. Early Game: Arizona @ Carolina (FOX). Announcers are Matt Vasgersian and Brian Baldinger. Really? That’s the best they could do for such a high-profile game? Tampa-Dallas got number one billing again on Fox. Ridiculous. I will say it’s because Tampa is hot right now. Dallas sucks. Late Games: New York Giants @ Pittsburgh (FOX). Announcers are Dick Stockton and Troy Aikman. Aikman will probably find a way to sneak in several Cowboys [...]
